SECOND EDITION – 2011

Date: November 24-25th , 2011.
Place: CTBE Auditorium, Campinas, Brazil.

Presentation: The Second Generation Bioethanol Workshop 2011: Enzymatic Hydrolysis will be held on 24 and 25th November at the Brazilian Bioethanol Science and Technology Laboratory (CTBE), in Campinas (SP). The event, which will be broadcast live over the Internet, seeks to disseminate scientific findings in the area and identify what needs to be done in basic science to create efficient hydrolysis technological routes on an industrial scale. Seven Brazilian and six foreign speakers will bring contributions on the following areas: 1) interactions between hydrolytic enzymes and structural polysaccharides of the plant cell walls; 2) Relationship between structure and function of enzymes and; 3) bioprocesses economic issues associated to the production of cellulosic ethanol. Among the confirmed speakers are Bernard Henrissat from Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS – France), founder and administrator of Cazy (Carbohydrate-Active Enzymes), a leading database on hydrolases (genes, proteins and protein structures) of the world.
