CO-PRODUCTS WORKSHOP
Full use of sugarcane, residues and wastes – maximizing efficiency and profits

Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil: 21-24 August 2018

The state of São Paulo, in Brazil, was chosen as the host of the 2018 ISSCT Co-Products Workshop due to the fact that São Paulo is the Brazilian largest state producing sugar cane, responsible for approximately 50% of the country’s production. The state is also the heart of the capital goods industries and research institutions working on sugar cane and its main products. Get to know the Workshop Venue.

The Workshop is intended to promote discussions on the main alternatives of sugar cane co-products with real cases and areas of high interest for different markets and scales (large scale commodity to low scale specialties).

Countrywide there are several successful commercial initiatives of producing different co-products of sugarcane, besides sugar, such as the traditional ethanol and electricity and several others ranging from food and feed components, paper, particle board, biodegradable plastics, second generation ethanol, and chemical products and displacement of petroleum naphtha by ethanol in large-scale petrochemical plants.

To improve the quality and significance of the discussions the participants are invited to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations, which are very important for the Workshop Organizing Committee to propose a well-balanced programme.
