Selection Criteria<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\r\n

Given the limited number of participants, the following selection criteria will be applied to the workshop and symposium if the number of registrations exceeds our capacity:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    \r\n
  1. Submission of work for poster presentation within the symposium thematic area.<\/span><\/li>\r\n
  2. Academic background, prioritizing researchers, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and then undergraduate students<\/span><\/li>\r\n
  3. Geographic distribution<\/span><\/li>\r\n
  4. Gender balance<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n

    For the workshop, applicants will\u00a0be required\u00a0to\u00a0submit\u00a0a set of documents upon registration, including motivation and recommendation letters.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
    Registrations options include two modalities:<\/span><\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
    \r\n
      \r\n
    • Full event participation, including both the Pre-Event<\/span> Workshop\u00a0<\/span>and the 2<\/span><\/span>nd<\/span><\/span><\/sup> Symposium on Protein Design and Engineering<\/span><\/li>\r\n
    • Symposium-only participation,\u00a0<\/span>convering<\/span>\u00a0only the 2<\/span><\/span>nd<\/span><\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<\/sup>Symposium<\/span><\/span> on Protein Design and Engineering.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<\/tbody>\r\n<\/table>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

      Registration Fees
      Applicable to both Pre\u2011Event Workshop + Symposium and Symposium\u2011only participation

      Professionals \u2013 Academic <\/span>
      \/ Non-profit (Researcher\/Staff\/Management)<\/span><\/td>\r\n      		Includes researchers and staff affiliated with universities, research institutes, government, and non\u2011profit organizations.<\/span><\/td>\r\nBRL 400.00<\/span><\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
      Professionals \u2013 Industry \/ For-profit (Researcher\/Staff\/Management)<\/span><\/td>\r\nIncludes professionals affiliated with for\u2011profit organizations (e.g., companies, startups, consultancies, private hospitals, publishers), irrespective of prior academic or research background.<\/span><\/td>\r\nBRL 500.00<\/span><\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n

      Registration fee includes: Access to scientific sessions, refreshments, lunches, and certificate of attendance.<\/span><\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n

      Cancellation Policies<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\r\n\u00a0<\/td>\r\n\u00a0<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
      Any changes and cancellations must be pre-notified in writing by email to eventos@cnpem.br.<\/span><\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
      Registration fees will be refunded, considering the deduction of the following administrative fees:<\/span><\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
      \r\n
        \r\n
      • 10% on payments made by credit card and bank slip plus applicable taxes and fees related to the refund financial transaction;<\/span><\/li>\r\n
      • 40% on payments made by international bank transfer (invoice) plus applicable taxes and fees related to the refund financial transaction.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
      Refunds will be made by credit card or bank transfer, depending on the original payment method after deduction of bank expenses and handling costs.<\/span><\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
      No refunds for cancellations made after September 4th, 2026.<\/span><\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<\/tbody>\r\n<\/table>\r\n

      During the application process, participants may request support for travel, accommodation, and\/or a registration fee waiver. Please note:<\/strong> Requesting support does not guarantee approval, as funds are subject to availability.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

      Eligibility<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n

      To be eligible for financial support, candidates must:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

        \r\n
      • Be selected for the <\/span>pre-event (Oct 5\u20136)<\/strong> and for a <\/span>poster presentation<\/strong> at the symposium (Oct 6\u20138).<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

        \u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Additional Criteria (Subject to Funding)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\r\n

        Selection will also consider regional and gender diversity, as well as the applicant’s academic record.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

        Requirement for Awardees<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n

        <\/span><\/p>\r\n

        Selected candidates must include in the supervisor\u2019s recommendation letter a statement confirming that they do not have access to funding agency resources to cover travel costs for the event.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n
