Methodology and Objectives

Course topics will be taught through lectures related to basic theory and advanced topics in TEM, as well as demonstrative classes. Academic activities are planned over two weeks, to fulfill specific objectives: The goals of the first week lectures include to introduce the participants to the basic concepts of electron microscopy who have little experience in TEM related field and to improve and further strengthen the knowledge of participants with previous knowledge in TEM. The theory involved in electron microscopy is complex, involving various concepts related to modern physics, geometrical optics and crystallography. Second week aims to enhance the knowledge of participants regarding the most advanced techniques and state of the art in TEM. For this purpose, most of the lectures will be delivered by well renowned researchers from important foreign microscopy laboratories.
