To work at the Modeling and Architecture of Experimental Systems (MARE) group of the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS)



Main Activities


The candidate will work with the design and development of scientific instrumentation related to industrial applications in the energy sector, carrying out the planning and execution of test and validation tasks in the areas of materials amd mechanical engineering and metrology (stiffness, thermal management, high pressure, corrosion, fatigue etc.). The candidate may use software for mechanical design and finite element analysis (FEA), integration and calibration of scientific instrumentation equipment, preparation of technical reports and tasks related to monitoring the project life cycle. It will also interface with scientists and beamline engineering groups, covering topics such as materials science, high pressure, precision mechatronics and instrumentation design applied to high-performance in-situ experiments.


Required Qualifications


Higher Education in Materials Engineering, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace, Chemical Engineering or related;
Advanced English;
Knowledge of technical standards for planning and executing tests related to the activities described above;
Experience with finite element analysis (FEA), as well as notions of project management, preparation of technical reports and tasks related to monitoring the project life cycle.
Previous experience with research and development, publication of papers in journals or conferences (national or international) will be considered a plus.
