To work at the Integrative Omics of the Brazilian Biorenewables National Laboratory (LNBR)


Development of machine learning applications, integrative databases, scripts/pipelines for data analysis and visualization for microbial integrative omics analysis, including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics analysis.
The main focus will be on the understanding and exploration of microbial diversity and metabolism at the molecular level.


Main Activities


Develop and maintain scripts for automating data processing and analysis workflows.
Design and implement integrative databases to store and manage omics data.
Create and optimize bioinformatics pipelines for comprehensive omics data analysis.
Develop data visualization tools to facilitate the interpretation of complex datasets.
Apply machine learning techniques to analyze and interpret multi-omics data.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to analyze microbial data.
Conduct research to enhance understanding of microbial diversity and metabolic processes.
Prepare technical documentation, reports, and scientific publications.


Required Qualifications


Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Informatics, Computational Science or a related area.
Pos graduation in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Microbiology, or a related field.
Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or R.
Experience with bioinformatics tools and software for omics data analysis.
Proficiency in database management systems (SQL) and data integration.
Knowledge of statistical and machine learning techniques applicable to omics data.
Familiarity with genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic data analysis.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with high-performance computing environments.
Knowledge of microbial ecology and environmental microbiology.
Proficiency in data visualization software and libraries (e.g., ggplot2, matplotlib).
Experience with cloud-based bioinformatics tools and platforms.
Understanding of network biology and systems biology approaches.
