The 7th Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) Summer School will be held in the Brazilian Nanotechnology National Laboratory (LNNano), which is part of the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM), Campinas, Brazil between January 15 and 26, 2018.
This school has the objective to teach basic and advanced theoretical concepts of TEM microscopy. Practical aspects for the efficient use of different TEM techniques will also be covered in demonstrative sessions with specialists in techniques like electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS), X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (XEDS), electron diffraction, electron tomography and high-resolution electron microscopy.
By the execution of this course, LNNano intends to disseminate the capabilities and the use of TEM techniques, promote the qualification of new users for the LNNano facilities and train our current users. The scientific environment of the 7th TEM Summer School will stimulate new scientific partnerships between the attendees, lecturers and LNNano researchers. Furthermore, LNNano expects to increase the productivity and impact of the work done using our multi-user facilities.
Post-graduate students enrolled in master or doctoral programs, postdocs and researchers (from public or private sector) in Engineering, Material Science, Physics, Chemistry and correlated areas, interested in learning TEM techniques in order to apply that knowledge in future Researches. Candidates from all over the world are invited.
