Organizing Committee Invitation

On behalf of the Brazilian Nanotechnology National Laboratory (LNNano), it is my great pleasure to invite you to the sixth edition of the Transmission Electron Microscopy Summer School, which will be held at the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM), Campinas, São Paulo, from 11 to 29 January 2016. The CNPEM hosts four laboratories, worldwide reference (LNLS, LNBio, CTBE and LNNano) with open facilities to the scientific and business communities from Brazil and abroad.

The school had its first edition in 2007 and has the objective of teaching basic and advanced TEM techniques for the students and researchers who are interested in applying them to their own research. In the last edition, the school was attended by 85 graduated students and PhDs from different areas. For this edition, we expect 100 participants, from Brazil and abroad. The school is organized for a duration of  three weeks and in the first week, basic TEM theory will be covered. Further, in the second week, several advanced topics including Electron Holography, Electron Tomography, Spectroscopy, Quantitative analyses and Advanced Electron Diffraction will be dealt. Finally, hands-on activities will be the focused during the third week.

We would like to count on your presence to learn with experienced researchers in the field of applications and developments in TEM.
