The selection will be based on the information provided in the application form. Three main criteria will be used:

1. Relevance of the course to the candidate’s current research;
2. Experience of the candidate based on publications and work in the field (patents, personnel training (scope for training dissemination), participation in structural biology or drug discovery consortia, event organization);
3. Career stage (preference will be given to final-year PhD students, postdocs, and young lead researchers).

In addition to these merit-based criteria, geographical distribution and gender equity will also be considered.

Up to 20 fellowships will be provided to cover the costs of traveling and/or accommodation of participants, which will depend on available budget. The selection criteria will follow: 

• Familiarity to one or more topics to be covered in the workshop; 

• Importance of the workshop for the current research of the participant; 

• Opportunities to spread knowledge by the participants once returning to their home institutions; 

• Regionality, aiming to cover different regions in Brazil and different countries in Latin America; 

• Gender balance
