Main Activities
Actively participate in the conception, design, prototyping, and documentation of scientific instrumentation systems, with a focus on device and personnel safety in the context of the Sirius and Orion laboratories.
Collect and ensure project requirements through systems engineering methodologies.
Design and evaluate safety systems using standard methodologies such as FMEA and develop causality models like STAMP and/or similar approaches for risk analysis, enabling the application of methodologies like STPA in systems engineering.
Initially, the candidate will work on projects related to oil and gas infrastructure for Sirius’s Mogno beamline and biosafety for the Orion project’s beamlines.
Previous experience or affinity with safety systems is considered an advantage, as is experience with certification and the application of technical standards such as NR13, NR12, NR12188, and API.
Organize processes related to project lifecycles, and follow or participate in the delivery and commissioning of equipment in collaboration with CNPEM teams.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related sciences.
Knowledge of device control and safety-related technical standards.
Familiarity with programming languages and version control/repository management tools.
English (advanced/fluent).
Desirables
Previous experience in project management or manufacturing methods.
Prior involvement in light beamline projects or scientific instrumentation.
Experience in equipment certification or applying technical standards such as NR13, NR12, NR12188, and API.
Knowledge or certification in requirements engineering or systems engineering, including methodologies like STAMP, STPA, or CAST.
Familiarity with tools for requirements management and systems modeling, such as Model Center, Cameo, Capella, Tracecloud, etc., will be considered an advantage.
Prior experience in biosafety, cryogenics, or oil and gas will be seen as a plus.
Experience in research and development, including publishing articles in journals or conferences (national or international).
