To work at the Modeling and Architecture of Experimental Systems (MARE) group of the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS)
Main Activities
Actively contribute to the development of high-performance mechatronic instrumentation for experimental systems, in close collaboration with foreign consultants specializing in precision mechatronics and scientific instrumentation;
Focus, in the short and medium term, on the development of equipment for the MOGNO beamline of Sirius, the 4th generation Synchrotron Laboratory of the National Center for Research in Energy and Materials, CNPEM: this project involves the creation of an innovative system for in situ 4D micro-tomography experiments, in collaboration with multinational companies in the energy sector;
Actively participate in a working group for novel component design, integrating areas such as tribology, dynamics, corrosion, thermal and fluids, going through full modeling, prototyping, and testing cycles;
Integrate into a team of engineers and analysts dedicated to the entire lifecycle of high-technology scientific instrumentation projects. This includes requirements elicitation, predictive modeling (analytical or finite element), mechatronic design, prototyping, testing, assembly, integration, and commissioning of complete mechatronic systems.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields;
Advanced level of English;
Experience in finite element analysis (FEA), project management, technical report writing, and project lifecycle management.
Desirables
Notions of technical standards for planning and executing tests related to the described activities (NR13, API-R40, among others), will be considered an advantage;
Notions of risk management methodologies: STAMP/STPA, FMEA, or similar will be considered an advantage;
Notions of Systems Engineering methodologies as defined by INCOSE, or tools such as OPCAT, SysML, Capella, or similar will be considered an advantage;
