The 1st annual AgroEnviro Workshop – Applications of Synchrotron Radiation for Foundational Science in Agricultural and Environmental Research – will be held on 20 and 21 May, 2020. The workshop is promoted by the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS), located at the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM) in Campinas, state of São Paulo, in Brazil.
The aim of the workshop is to motivate scientists from diverse regions of Brazil to utilize the highly advanced 4th generation synchrotron, Sirius, to address fundamental science questions for solving agricultural and environmental problems of concern in Brazil.
Presentations from invited Brazilian and international speakers will cover topics related to management of nutrients, water, heavy metals, and organic pollutants in soils and natural environments. Presenters from CNPEM will highlight the unique capabilities of the Sirius beamlines that will provide Brazilian scientists with state-of-the-art tools for solving agricultural and environmental problems.
