THE SCHOOL

The first edition of the first IBSB School: Industrial Biotechnology & Synthetic Biology School will bring together researchers and postgraduate students from Brazil and international speakers to discuss advanced science topics for building biotechnological platforms aimed at more efficient bioproduction of fine chemicals and biofuels. The program will cover common topics to LNBR’s research, such as High Throughput Cellular Monitoring Systems, Omics Sciences, Microorganism Metabolic Engineering, Molecular Dynamics, and Cell-free Systems, with active attendee participation.

Classes will take place around a large round table, providing participants with the opportunity to engage with LNBR researchers in a casual atmosphere. Additionally, participants will have the chance to present their ongoing work, fostering ideas and discussions that can enhance the impact of their research.

WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND

Biotechnology and SynBio have emerged as fields of extreme international importance, driving significant advances in sustainable solutions for food and energy production. CNPEM, specifically LNBR, has based its research on developing advanced science tools in these fields, thus offering a wide range of possibilities for solving national challenges. Despite this importance, Brazil is still lagging behind in the training of researchers in these fields and, with this school, we aim to bring together scientists from related areas to discuss new topics and provide insights to boost national state-of-the-art research.

WHO CAN APPLY

Graduate students (master’s, doctoral, or postdoctoral), or those with recent thesis defenses (3 months), in the fields of Biotechnology, SynBio and Biocatalysis can apply.

SPEAKERS

In this first edition of the IBSB School, besides LNBR’s academic community, participants will also interact with researchers from the Chalmers University of Technology (Gothenburg, Sweden), renowned for their expertise in industrial biotechnology and SynBio. Discussions will be held in both Portuguese and English, requiring participants to have proficiency in English.

Applications for the 1st IBSB School will be accepted from February 10th to March 9th via the form available in the REGISTRATION page
