We are pleased to invite you to the 2nd Groundwater Remediation using Nano/biotechnology with focus on the Contaminated Resources in Brazil (GRUN II) conference, which will be jointly organized by the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS), part of the the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM), the Teesside University (UK) and the Groundwater Research Center (CEPAS/USP). The event will be hosted fully online on Zoom platform between June 28 and July 2, 2021.
The second edition of the GRUN Conference focuses on nanotechnology and novelty remediation processes for groundwater and soil, using nano and biotechnology, among others. Invited speakers from around the world will discuss the state-of-the-art in groundwater and soil remediation technologies. We will also have speakers from Brazil who will discuss the current state-of-knowledge regarding Brazilian groundwater resources.
In addition to the discussions on the remediation process and case studies, the second edition of GRUN features a demonstration of a few relevant software packages. Also, due to the isolation conditions with respect to combating COVID-19, the tours to the National Laboratories of the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Material (CNPEM) will be virtual, ensuring the dissipation of knowledge about the capacity of CNPEM’s facilities.
The purpose of this conference is to bring together an interdisciplinary group of researchers and engineers to collectively explore how these technological advances can be applied to Brazilian groundwater and soil systems. We expect a wide range of participants including scientists, engineers, academics, industry representatives, and governmental agents.
We look forward to further growing a community of scientists with special interest in groundwater remediation and we encourage you to contribute with an abstract to be presented as oral or poster presentations.
