Bioprocesses

It uses the techniques of cultivation and characterization of microorganisms (fungi, bacteria, and yeasts), enzymatic hydrolysis, and alcoholic fermentation for the production of biofuels and other products of renewable origin.

It has a unique infrastructure with automated bioreactors (60ml to 20l) and sensors such as viscometer, gas analyzer, MIR, microscopes, among others, for monitoring bench-scale processes.

The facility also has support equipment for microbial propagation and biomolecule analysis (incubators, greenhouses, biological safety cabins, electrophoresis, spectrophotometers, centrifuges). Classified as Biosafety Level 1 (NB-1) area, it cultivates wild and genetically modified fungi, bacteria, and yeasts.
